ALL ABOUT THIS MAMA
Mama of three. Keeper of the chaos.
Lover of camping, travelling, sushi and coffee.

In addition to pursuing my passion of babies and breastfeeding, I am also a part time EMS Disptatcher/Calltaker and did work as an EMT as well. Let's just say I am used to being kept on my toes, and adapt well to a busy environment!

Prior to having kids, I lived for late nights, last minute adventures and my hair was always fresh and clean.
I certainly had never gave childbirth, breastfeeding, or anything postpartum much thought.

Fast forward to the present day: My phone is full of kid selfies, there are tiny socks all over my house, and I traded my cute purse for a backpack of snacks and baby wipes.
I am proud to say I have now been through a full spectrum of pregnancy and parenting experiences.
-
The heartbreak of a miscarriage
-
The intense schedule of IVF.
-
3 very different pregnancies.
-
3 water births with the most amazing midwives,
-
Breastfed 3 babies: the first experience was insanely difficult, 2nd was challenging (but I had some experience on my side), the 3rd was “almost easy” and I was even able to pump and donate!

Through all of this, I had amazing support from my husband, family and friends. My experiences and challenges have driven me to want to help other mothers, babies, and families.
I became a Certified Lactation Counsellor to help those struggling with breastfeeding, or maybe support and educate them so that they don’t have to struggle at all!
I have chosen to become a Postpartum Doula, so that I can support others like I was supported. My goal is to help your family with their transition, assist where requested, and anticipate your needs. I can fade into the background working quietly or be a companion you can open up to when things feel hard.
Whatever you need, I want you to enjoy your time as a growing family!
What I Do

Postpartum Support

-
Emotional support to parents as they transition into parenthood, or adjust to their growing family.
-
Provide physical support to the mother while she recovers from vaginal delivery or c-section.
-
Assist with baby care such as bathing, comforting, and diapers.
-
Assist with breastfeeding: provide help with positioning, what to expect, provide reassurance, and trouble shoot any difficulties.
-
Bottle feeding baby according to established routines, assist with prepping and cleaning bottles.
-
Look after baby while parents nap, shower, play with siblings or do other self care (read a book and have a HOT coffee)
-
Help keep older siblings entertained while parents bond with the new baby.
-
Do light tidying and baby laundry.
-
Light meal and snack preparation
-
Provide evidence based advice (as requested)
-
Accompany parent and baby/children while they attend appointments or run errands.
-
Provide referrals and access to additional information as requested (pelvic floor physio, mental health resources, local community supports)
Please understand this is not a childcare position ( an adult from the family is expected to be in the home at all times). This is also not a house cleaner position, there are amazing professionals for that, my focus is the mom, baby and family.
